Charles Parselle is an experienced lawyer who has been mediating for many years. He teaches the subject of mediation for the Institute of Conflict Management and is a published writer. As a litigator himself, he feels that adversarial litigation is generally an inappropriate way to obtain a divorce. He says: “It wasn’t a way when you got married, and divorce should not be a war staged at great expense in a public courtroom. There has to be a better way, and I believe mediation is it.”

We are an organization dedicated to the art and practice of dispute resolution, and we feel very privileged to be able to do this work, which we feel is the best work in the world. We are in the business of helping people disentangle themselves from strife, from conflict and from disputes, which are costing them three most valuable things, which are time, money and health, because stress damages health. IVJC operates in the Counties of Los Angeles and San Bernardino. We are a non-profit corporation tax exempt and public benefit. We operate mainly through the services of volunteers and interns, and we also have part-time staff members. Our offices are in Claremont, which is east of Pasadena and west of Rancho Cucamonga.
IVJC has a diverse group of mediators. Some are attorneys, some students, and all are members of the community. All have completed mediation training and are highly skilled and experienced in resolving disputes.
We provides dispute resolution services
that are quick, economical and confidential. Our services are provided primarily
to low-income and moderate-income individuals who normally could not afford
to go to court or pay an attorney.
IVJC is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 company and is able to provide free and
low-cost services due to funds from the Dispute Resolution Programs of Los
Angeles and San Bernardino counties, foundation grants, and private donations
from people like you.
